Insider info
Dustin Poirier favored over Michael Chandler lean UFC 281 · November 8, 2022
strikinggreat
durabilityvery good
He picks Poirier but says he isn't confident enough to actually bet it, treating the fight as close to a coin flip in practice.
Poirier's boxing is elite on both ends — he doesn't absorb much clean damage and answers back with sharp combinations of his own — and he owns a chin sturdy enough that even a heavy hitter likely needs more than one shot to put him away. His takedown defense has been beaten before, but only by the very best grapplers in the sport, which speaks well of it against the rest of the field. The matchup favors him as long as the fight stays technical rather than turning into a pure brawl.
