Picked with the analyst explicitly candid about low conviction -- says he doesn't fully know which side to take and picks partly on preference.
His unorthodox style on the feet makes an already-cautious opponent even more cautious. Judged purely on technique he's only a decent striker, nothing remarkable, but he pushes real volume and comes forward doing genuinely strange, uncomfortable things that are hard to prepare for. He's a strong grappler in his own right -- lands a lot of takedowns, scrambles as well as anyone in the division, hunts submissions, and operates at a genuinely high pace throughout. He's also earned a reputation as a dirty fighter, openly willing to bend the rules to win without much concern for how it looks.
Strengthgenuinely strange, uncomfortable striking rhythm
Strengthhigh-volume takedowns and elite scrambling at a relentless pace
Weaknessknown as a dirty fighter, a real disciplinary risk
