Not a great striker by elite UFC standards, though decent power if given an open shot -- has hurt people with both hands and kicks before -- and good kicks at range, typical of a grappler-based fighter who stays outside. His real strength is the grappling: good chain wrestling backed by genuinely accomplished jiu-jitsu from an active grappling-competition background. The distinguishing trait is that failed submission attempts become transitions into other submissions or better positions rather than dead ends -- very good transitions, strong at taking the back, scrambles really well, and chains submission attempts together, forcing an opponent to defend a sequence rather than one attempt.
