Cody Durden favored — picked against Carlos Mota clear UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Allen · October 26, 2022
strikinggood

The pick against him leans heavily on the disruption a short-notice camp and a determined wrestler create for a kick-reliant striker.

Mota is a live, fast-handed striker with real knockout upside, especially through a body kick that has already finished fights and hits harder than people expect. The problem in this matchup is that his best weapon needs room to operate, and a pressure wrestler closing distance takes that room away — a kicker can't do much damage with an opponent standing on top of him. Taking the fight on short notice against a live wrestling threat is viewed as a difficult ask, even with his finishing power intact.

Strengthfast hands and quick combinations
Strengthdangerous, fight-ending body kick
Strengthreal knockout power in his shots
Weaknesskicking game neutralized by close pressure
Weaknessfighting on short notice
Weaknessless proven grappling defense against a committed wrestler
ko power · finishing power in both hands and kicks, particularly the body kick
