Tatiana Suarez

Picked against with the analyst explicitly saying this is tricky -- he doubts she wins a pure striking fight but is genuinely unsure how much the grappling swings it.

Her career resume shows exactly one loss, to a former champion -- a hard fact, but not one that says much against her. What's more of an open question is recent form: she hasn't quite looked like herself lately, even in fights she's won. Her striking is adequate rather than special -- the threat of a takedown creates openings for her hands, and her one-two is passable, not a weapon on its own but not a real liability either given how strong the grappling is. That grappling is built on a wrestling foundation and it shows -- reliable takedowns, strong throws, a strong body lock, and a distinctive habit of passing straight to a dominant position on the way down from a takedown rather than settling for guard first. Her takedown defense is strong and she hunts chokes from the top. Ground-and-pound used to be a real weapon for her too, though it hasn't been on display much in her recent fights.
